Remote Guarding: A Success StoryMay 31st, 2016 | by admin admin | in News | 1
“I can live for two months on a good compliment.” – Mark Twain
At Radius, a compliment from the police or a client likely lasts us even longer. According to Langley RCMP, our client Prairie Coast Equipment in Langley is “the poster child for Crime Prevention.” In commending PCE, the officer noted its target hardening measures such as the Radius remote guarding video security system and monitoring.
“It would almost appear that they have a former police officer providing guidance and advice!” he wrote in an email to PCE.
Specifically, the officer credited the store’s security measures with the arrest of two break-and-enter suspects in April. In that incident, a Radius operator spotted the trespassers inside a secured area. While on the phone with police, she observed that the suspects had “grabbed some tools and tried really hard to breach…the door.”
While waiting for back up, the first officer on site watched them break into the building with a blow torch. A minute later, both suspects were led away in handcuffs and are now awaiting trial. With Radius’ video evidence, the prosecution has a strong case.
“PCE’s investment in a top line security system for Langley has really paid off and Radius/VanFire are doing a heck of a job for us,” says Al Macintyre, the health, safety and security liaison for PCE Langley. He further notes this was the second arrest at the site and that Radius Security had successfully warned trespassers to leave the site eight times before.
“We are confident that the system will continue to insulate us from crime and as the word spreads that we are not an easy target, the thieves will move elsewhere.”
